THE BEST SPECIAL FRIED RICE I HAVE EVER HAD. I ORDER A SIDE OF GRAVY SO WHEN I DON'T FINISH IT I ADD THE GRAVY THE NEXT DAY PLUS HOT OIL AND IT AWESOME! THE CHUNKS OF PORK ARE SWEET AND FATTY ENOUGH NOT TO DRY OUT! PERFECT DISH!

We have been ordering Christmas dinner the past 2 years from here and everyone has raved about their orders - Gilbert's ha been kind enough to take each families order and bag it individually and price it as well. They are easy to deal with and all 7-9 orders have been ready and hot at pickup.We have continued to order throughout the year and the food has been just as tasty. They remember my husband and have allowed him to use out of date coupons as well as making a dish he specially requested the 1st year we ordered Christmas dinner.

GREAT FOOD!!! I always order the Mangolian Beef, and the entire box is beef with some veggies. And the pot stickers are great, Only complaint is that it's a little pricey but very good food!

Cant give 0 stars. I've been eating here since I was a kid. The food used to be top notch! I ordered a couple of days ago for delivery and was so disappointed! I was at work and they delivered without utensils, chopsticks or spoon for my hot and sour soup. The sweet and sour combo was edible but couldn't eat rice without any utenciles! I called and he said "you didn't order any". It's not rocket science, what used to be a great business has fallen into "I'm so glad that I didn't bring the people here that I boasted about this place to"! The sweet and sour sauce had 3 pieces of pineapple, pepper pieces in a large. Not even a joke, picture to prove. Will never order again:(

This was my first time trying this place and I’m really disappointed. I got a small hot and sour soup and it came really dark almost a black color. Hot and sour soup is not suppose to be dark. Then I ordered the jumbo egg rolls. Yes the egg rolls were jumbo but they were not tasteful to my liking. I’ve had better. I will not be ordering from here again.

Used to be excellent, now it's just ok. I often find myself just waving as I drive by and think of how good it used to be.

I haven't been there in years since I was a kid. Definitely not let down. Will absolutely go back.

YUCK! Ordered from this place years ago and it was amazing. Husband was in the area and we ordered today and it was AWFUL!!!!!!! Apparently management has changed since then. We ended up throwing it all in the garbage! We wasted $57 on food we didn't even eat! We were better off donating the money! WHAT A WASTE!!

I arrive at this excellent restaurant every couple of days as I like the ambiance that is unique to this place. The team is highly loyal and qualified. The service is certainly efficient. Also, the food you get is perfect. I visited more than once and I was never disappointed. The rate is modest. I recommend this place to my friends and family.

This place is garbage and we won't be returning specially after finding a STAPLE inside our damn broccoli! No thank you.

Awesome take out chinese food. The sweet and sour chicken has big chunks of chicken.

Has progressively gotten worse over the years. I use to really enjoy the food here. Don't even want to bother coming here anymore.

I love coming here and getting Chinese take out. I drove all the way from Milwaukee to get some walnut shrimp, and the enjoy company of dear friends.

One of the very few places where you can get steamed veggies and chicken without sauce. Great if you're watching calories, sodium, etc or feeding a kid (like we are). Veggie chow fun was great. The noodles were the perfect texture and flavor. The egg rolls are huge and very good. Crab rangoons are also large and stuffed with a lot of filling. Will be ordering a again. Great experience, very good food.

So I had a coworker suggest this place for lunch one day. Telling me how it was a bit famous in the West Dundee area. So sure, I went, ordered just a generals chicken and egg rolls, nothing special. I got back to work and ate. Let me tell you first things first, too much sauce. I mean my god, if you want to taste sauce sauce sauce! This is for you. So you know, whatever, I’ll just keep the rest of the rice(not much) separate. Chicken was okay, veggies were meh, rice was rice and so the egg rolls. Your typical dry, over fried, cheap Chinese rolls. Everything was so meh! Went back to work, coworker asked, and guess what I said. “Yeah......MEH???” (Shoulder Shrug) lol But, I am reading how it has new management now. Pretty sure they need to let someone else take over, preferably some one who hasn’t grown up in America and understands traditional Chinese food. Sorry, both thumbs down on this one.

Really love this place. Fast delivery too

Wonderful food and wonderful service. Their shrimp and grits are the best we've had. The turkey grilled cheese with their signature "slaw" is the bomb. Highly recommend... Can't wait to try something else on their menu - Gator Ribs anyone?

Ordered spicy sesame shrimp lunch special. Felt disappointed....instead of being spicy, sauce was too sweet. Felt like eating sweet and sour shrimp.

OUTSTANDING and I've travelled all over the World...in particular Asia and the Farmers East! Hungry? "Git Some " !...By the way....NOT EXPENSIVE EITHER!

Super good orange chicken and honey garlic chicken and eggrolls ! Ordered 50 $ worth of food and it was all awesome!

Great carry out Chinese food

Gilbert's really disappointed me I don't know if they change owners or people .but the shrimp fried rice had no bean sprouts no egg no green onions. Wontons had no sausage in them. Spent a lot of money there to bring all the way to McHenry and very very disappointed... Gilbert's was our favorite place for egg rolls ...egg rolls are smaller it was mushy.i will not waste my money there... it is not what I remembered

My place for great Chinese take out.

The crab Rangoon is actually stuffed with something. The fried rice is good as well as the egg rolls and other beef and chicken dinners. Ordered different items on two separate occasions and will continue to order. A hidden gem of a place.

This is the best Chinese food ever! The egg rolls are large and delicious the fried rice fantastic and the beef chow mein reminds me of Chinatown. Our favorite dessert is their crispy almond cookies!!!

Not the same as I remember from years back. Taste is different. Not to say that the food is bad...... Just different in tasteYou all be the judge. As for me I will keep looking for a real Chinese food place.

Awesome food. Super quick, they made our order perfectly. Got General Tso's chicken and the Gilbert's Combo. Both entrees were SUPER good and so much food! At least 3 meals worth of food. And the jumbo chicken egg roll was INCREDIBLE. This will be the new go-to place! I highly highly recommend especially in this quarantine take-out time.

Years ago, I would drive an hour and a half for the Mongolian Beef and the Pineapple Chicken (asked for it spicy and it was such a great contrast). This WAS my favorite Chinese food restaurant I've ever visited. The last 3 times I've been there... Something changed.. A 180 degree shift. Now, I would not travel 1 minute. Have not been back in a few years. Sad.

The people who used to own this place sold it. New ownership cut back on quality and portions. Sadly, I dont think it will ever be the same. The only thing that remains now is the building.

I had the Mongolian beef with fried rice and it was so good & you get a lot of food for a good price. 1st time and I will be back!

This place is our favorite Chinese Restaurant. We had tryouts Thai Crazy Noodles with Beef and Basil Fried Rice with Combo. It was so good. LOOK up for THAI’S Entree! It is NEW!!

What a great place! So much food! We ordered the Orange chicken, hawaiin fried rice, combination chow mein, and the jumbo egg rolls. Will definitely go there again!
